Although Philip J. Procacci founded Procacci Development Corporation some 30 years ago, his real estate career began long before. You could say he was practically raised in it. Following in his father's footsteps, Procacci obtained his real estate license at the age of 19, an age when most teenagers are trying to figure out what college to go to much less what profession to pursue. After graduating from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Procacci put his license to good use and went straight to work for his father.
After getting his feet wet in real estate sales, Procacci constructed his first commercial retail real estate project in 1975. Procacci notes that this experience encouraged him to obtain his general contractor's license and found Procacci Development Corporation. The firm is headquartered in Boca Raton and specializes in development, leasing and property management.
Procacci's first retail center led him to establish a special niche in the marketplace. After losing two major anchors, the space was backfilled with State of Florida agencies and a long-standing relationship was born.
